Darrlene Alquiza
Founder, Co-CEO, & Executive Director of Education
Darrlene Alquiza holds a Science Degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a special interest in research methodology and a Master’s Degree in Human Development, specializing in early childhood education with a special interest in brain development. With over 20 years of experience as an educator and advocate, she is committed to supporting children and families. Darrlene knows that being informed and able is the key to fixing what is wrong in our broken society.
Jessica Cabrera
Founder, Co-CEO, & Executive Director of Operations
Jessica Cabrera is a proud San Fernando Valley native. She is a California Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator, having studied at the National Holistic Institute. Jessica has a passion for empowering others and encouraging civic engagement through respectful dialogue.
Kris Dukes
Founder, Co-CEO, & Executive Director of Outreach
Kris Dukes is a California native and mother of two. Kris holds a degree in Sports Medicine and Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge. After transitioning from a career in the television and film industry, Kris became a dedicated advocate for children’s health and educational rights following her child's disability. She is excited to utilize her professional experience to effectively network, disseminate information and activate participation in civic engagement.
Accomplishments
The leaders of Informed Advocates have known each other and worked together as a team since 2019, educating the public about the legislative process, bill activity, and respectful ways to engage their representatives and other government officials. Thousands of people reached. Millions of actions taken. The culmination of their efforts have led to a change in the culture wherein the people they’ve reached are more interested in current issues, more interested in getting involved, and empowered to take meaningful action for change. Specifically, the team has been able to disseminate information via zoom meetings, town halls, private consultations, community gatherings, presentations at conferences, networking events, and more. Informed Advocates is the sister organization of Informed Policy Advocates, a 501(c)4 nonprofit dedicated to advocating for legislative change. Visit their website to learn more about their work.
